NO! In the state of Texas, homeowners have the power to choose their electricity provider. Legitimized by HB 362, homeowners associations and other similar community organizations do not have the authority or jurisdiction to limit your access to solar power. Of course, there is something to be said about being neighborly. Solar Scouts are happy to work through your HOAs recommended placements for panels; however, there are no approval processes beyond securing permits from your city and county of residence. Our engineering firm sends the full packet of structural approvals to our master electrician, who then gets those plans approved and permitted by your city and county. After installation, the master electrician meets with the inspector on-site to secure final approval and completes your transition to sustainable, solar power.
